Do we use the same definition of "crisis" for this, as we do in Colorado, as in, self-identified?
Jess SR She/Her
44:19
Hi everyone - I was presenting at the Crisis Continuum Conference for the American Association of Suicidology. Sorry to come in late!
Lena Heilmann, she/hers
44:43
Hi, Jess! Welcome :-)
Lena Heilmann, she/hers

We are currently talking about the distinctions between 911, 988, and 844.

Mary, I love your hair!
Jess SR She/Her
53:14
It is a training test out day, so if we can not go all the way through to our staff that would be great
Lena Heilmann, she/hers

Agree, Jess! Thanks

My internet just got a bit choppy, I am going to turn my video off to see if it helps.
Jess SR She/Her

988 is designated for all behavioral health crisis, and that is pretty clear in their description. It isn't just for suicide crisis.
Cody Hickman
01:03:54
I agree Jess, that is how I understand it as well, but there was some conversation (maybe before you came in) around the vendor for 9-8-8 and SAMSHA wanting this to be messaged as "suicide prevention and mental health crisis," and we just wanted to make sure it wasn't too restrictive, but rather, more in line with how 8-4-4 is for a more broad behavioral, emotional, or mental health crisis. It sounds like we all agree that this might not be an issue, and that we can proceed with the behavioral health crisis scope.
Lena Heilmann, she/hers
01:05:13
Will the 38255 textline stay in place?
Cody Hickman
01:10:50
I also think that the phrase "prevention" gives us a little more latitude in defining the breadth of what we want to message, provided that aligns with what a user will actually experience. Especially in light of the use of "emotional health crisis" in the recording from the test call. Then again, it could also create more vagueness, and as Laquisha mentioned, we may have to wait and see.
Lena Heilmann, she/hers
01:11:38
Agree, Jess -- I think we are in a position to push for national change.
Chris Harms/CSSSRC
01:11:45
I agree that we don't want to eliminate the pieces from the current numbers that are working in Colorado.
Cody Hickman
01:12:06
I agree, excellent points.
Chris Harms/CSSSRC
01:13:25
Is the plan to, at some point, eliminate CCS' number for 988?
Chris Harms/CSSSRC
01:14:22
But who has final say to do that?
Chris Miller (He/Him/His)
01:17:38
This work group can provide recommendations to the planning committee.
